Lucifer Hummingbird
Habitat: Arid Slopes and desert canyons.
Food: Mostly nectar and insects. Nectar from flowers and tiny insects. Also feeds from sugar water mixtures from hummingbird feeders.
Migratory Path: Southwestern US and Northwestern US to South Central Mexico
Behavior: Hovers over flowers and extend their tongue deep into the flower, at feeders they either hover or perch. To catch insects, they fly out and catch them in mid air.
Conservation Status: Uncommon but increasing in US areas
